My little dutchboy.

He stands about six inches tall, has a sister (she's in storage) and he's lost his head! More specifically, as this is a chalkware piece (I'm pretty sure it is), his head cracked off in one clean piece about a year ago. I tried super glue-ing it back together, no luck. I don't know what will work, but I can't very well balance his head precariously on his neck forever, can I?

Anybody have a remedy for putting him back together again?

  1. Oh...we can't have him headless!!
This is what has worked for me before with a piece of broken chalkware. Get the other stuff that you used to fix it completely off and make sure that your area is clean and dry. I used Elmer's White Glue to repair my piece. Make sure that you have both pieces supported while they dry. You might also want to try taking a toothpick and put a few tiny holes in the chalkware before you put the glue on. Be careful though so you don't chip it!!

  3. what a cute dutch boy figurine! as with all my broken figurines i put the pieces back together with industrial glue and embellish the cracked area with ribbon or something.
