Yardley Ads of the 60's and 70's

Note:  the second, third and fourth images above feature Jean Shrimpton, famous English model of the 1960's.













There is something about these ads that sets them apart, to my eye.  In an age when the popular trends were "mod" and "forward looking", they nod to the past.  Look at the last two ads -- they're clearly very Art Deco-inspired!  The bobbed and wavy (Marcelled?) hair is a direct lift from those years past.
