Valentine Sandberg is my great grandfather. I really love seeing his work displayed on the Internet so that it can be appreciated by a different generation of artists and art lovers.Thank you for displaying his fadeaway ladies on your blog.
Hi Ginger --Can you tell me when your grandfather passed away? I can't seem to find this date on line. Thank you.Laurie
Valentine Sandberg is my great great great great grandfather and I also love seeing some of his work displayed on the internet. I also have some original copies of his.
Wow, thanks for leaving these comments Ginger and Aysia!I have long admired your ancestor's beautiful work. He was one of the greats of the Golden Age of Illustration. It is a real pleasure to hear from you. Are either of you involved in art in any way, personally or professionally?Laurie
Valentine Sandberg is my great grandfather as well. I wish I had some of his original work. -Kirsten
Dear Aysia and Kristen. Here Pau Medrano from overseas Barcelona, Spain. I'm professor on Graphic Design and Illustration, and I'm interested to know a little more about the biography of your ancestor Valentine Sandberg. Please, feel free to email me at my personal email (firstname.lastname@example.org)Thanks for your time and help, and best wishes from mediterranean Barcelona. Sincerely, Pau.
I love his work! I had some of his tobacco cards at one point, and have done some fridge magnets of them. You can see them here: http://stores.ebay.com/KatyDids-Cards/Sports-/_i.html?_fsub=407404119&_sid=737971569&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
Ginger, Asyia or Kirsten! I am also a great-great-something or other of Valentine Sandberg. My father (Arthur Edward Sandberg) has what appear to be PAINTINGS of some of his illustrations hanging on the living room walls in River Edge, NJ. I am here desperately trying to track down the Sandberg Family tree (I know an older relative had done a fairly comprehensive one, some years back...) If you see this - contact me so we can compare notes. :)
Hi Kathleen,Do you have an email address where you can be reached? Maybe we could create some sort of an on-line page where we could fill in the missing family tree links.Pau, what specifics are you looking for?Regards,Kirsten
He was my great grandfather also, my dad is Alfred Winslow Sandberg. Brothers are George and John. I have many of the advertising prints, my dad has an original oil titled God's Masterpiece. I would love to find some more of his paintings.
