... and I ask myself whether I am, in fact, crazier than I already thought I was. To start a new blog when I already have one that on some days constitutes a full-time (but rarely paying) job, and a second one (this one) that I sometimes abandon for weeks on end, seems a rash and impulsive move.
That said -- I make no promises, except that whatever I do post over at the newly hatched The Picture of Pretty will be, well, pretty. Pretty in an old fashioned way. Not cute, but at least very pretty, and possibly also quite beautiful.
The cute I will save for Buttercup Bungalow!

I know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and all of that, but that doesn't mean I can't stake out a place in the universe where I post the best of the very best of what I consider lovely. (With a "so there!" subtext).
And maybe if I'm lucky, I'll find a few followers -- perhaps a few transplants from here (hint hint).
Much of my blogging here lately has been inspired by Pinterest, where I have masses of boards and spend way too much time. The Surgeon General should slap a warning on that site that it is highly addictive and could cause you to neglect your day to day responsibilities, blissfully unaware of the passage of time.
This explains why Pinterest is the fastest growing social media site on the internet. We love to collate, celebrate, curate, don't we? It's an act of collective creativity, and can be a joyful one at that.
The whole point is to enjoy it. Because life is short, but loveliness lasts forever in the hearts of those who cherish it most.

p.s. I have tried to argue myself out of creating a new blog when I've got two already PLUS my Pinterest boards, but the bald truth is that I need a place to put put my rampant perfectionism where it will be of good use. The Picture of Pretty will (I hope) be that place. Only images that make me go ooooh! and ahhhh! (not just one or the other) will make it there.
I think.

Sign me up! I'll be there with bells on.
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud when I read your idea for the Surgeon General warning for Pinterest--because it is SO true! :)
