tick tock ...

I'm going in for surgery today.

Tomorrow I'll have a silicone band wrapped around the top of my stomach, and for a week I'll be drinking all my meals. Then I'll move on to pureed.
Oh joy!

I am excited about the Lap Band experience, looking forward to losing weight with this tool, but being in the hospital freaks me out.

Thank God it's just one night.

Think sunshine-y thoughts for me, please!

Paris via Sex and the City

Spied a delightful post this morning at Parisien Salon ...

... outling a proposed tour of The City of Light through the episodes of S.A.T.C. filmed there.

As a fan of both the series and the city, I think this is a great idea!

Any excuse to return to the real Sex in the City/Carrie Bradshaw spirit of romance-meets-screwball comedy.  (How can that scene where Big falls on his way to save Carrie's honor be anything but screwball?)

pink loves blue!

... and a bright, sunshine yellow too.

Could I live in a room like this?

No.

Do I get a jolt of color-happiness from this picture?

Yes!

I really like the composition, as well.  For some reason, to my eye this space is reminiscent of The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.  Except that it's like the Gardner on acid, or as seen through a box of colorful macaroons.

Either way, it's a treat.

Chelsea Clinton's Vera Wang!

Quite simply one of the most beautiful wedding gowns ever.

Look at that jewel encrusted waist!
Vera Wang makes strapless look Goddess-like.

Good for Chelsea.  She's a vision on her wedding day.

Here's to a long and happy life together for these two!

Laduree: French fantasy food!

Fantastique!

Macaroons from French patisserie Laduree:

"From Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports to the heart of Paris, the aromas and colours, the sweetness and elegance of the renowned Ladurée macaroons delight both Parisians and tourists."

More here, and almost certainly more to come in another post!
